Dating Tips For Parents

Take the kids to school, go to work, hassle with your boss, rush home so that you can be there when your kids get home, fix a snack, make them do homework, clean up the house, throw a load in the washer, start dinner,

throw a load in the dryer, serve dinner, get the kids ready for bed, go to sleep, and start it all over… dating for parents has gotten much more complicated in the last few years.

Most of the time, these poor parents don't even get five minutes to themselves, let alone enough time to look for the love that they truly want. And even if you only have your children on the weekends, or every other weekend, it makes it hard. Dating for parents, it seems, is almost non-existent.

But it certainly don't have to be!

Here are some of our best tips for how to fit love into your already busy schedule.

Rely on Others

Your mother is telling you she's there for a reason - your friends are cooing over your child for something. Chances are, there is somewhere that your child could go if you wanted a night out with someone.

Don't be afraid to do this - babysitters are there for a reason, and you have the right to take time out of your schedule and discover what dating for parents is all about. This doesn't make you a bad parent… on the contrary. It makes you a good one, for knowing when you need a break from being super mom or super dad.

Don't Knock Down Every Flirt

It can be a habit to almost 'knock down' every person who flirts with you, and after a while, you might not even realize it - but you need to, so that you can stop.

Don't feel guilty about flirting with that person across the hall, or in the store, because it will make you feel good about yourself, and you never know, you might end up meeting the person that's right for you - someone you wouldn't have met if you had ignored them.

You're a Parent - Be Proud

Many people find those that can juggle work and parenting very attractive, especially the last part. But more and more single parents are shying away from admitting that they have children.

Why?

They believe that being a parent is going to be perceived as something that is not only unsexy, but just plain 'odd'. But dating for parents isn't odd, and be proud that you helped conceive someone incredible. Trust me - it's best to be honest up front!

Overall…

Dating for parents doesn't have to be a chore, and you can meet some great people. Don't be afraid to go all out and try new things… your happiness means the happiness of your child, remember that.
